Ganesh Godiyal is the new Uttarakhand Congress chief and Pritam Singh , Harak Singh assigned important responsibilities

The Congress leader and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi has accorded the cudgels of Uttarakhand state Congress in the hands of the vociferous leader, a former chief of the state Congress Ganesh Godiyal replacing the present state Congress chief Karan Mahara whose sevices have been lauded and awarded the post of special invitee of the highest decision making body of the Congress, CWC in which the former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and Pritam Singh are also the special invitees.

In addition to this new appointment the former cabinet minister who had defected to BJP in 2017 alongwith nine MLAs responsible for the fall of the Congress government then led by Harish Rawat as CM , has been accorded the important responsibility of chairman of the election management committee obviously playing a major role in the distribution of tickets during the 2027 state assembly elections.

The former leader of the opposition and state party chief, six time MLA Pritam Singh has been made the chairman of the state election campaign committee the charge earlier held by Harish Rawat.

The outgoing chief of state Congress has been elevated as special invitee to the highest decision making body of the Congress , also lauding his contribution to the party.

The general secretary organisation K.C.Venugopal has made the above announcements today.

The faction of the former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat who seems to be quite mobile has not been given any responsibility nor the former CM unambiguously meaning that it’s an indication by the High Command that he should either keep himself away from state politics, go slow or retire honourably.

In another press release the general secretary of AICC , Organisation K.C. Venugopal said that the Congress president has approved the proposal for the appointment of presidents of the district Congress committees of Uttarakhand as below : Venugopal further said that these appointments are made as part of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. Under this initiative AICC observers assigned to each district conducted detailed reviews, engaged with party functionaries and other stake holders and submitted their comprehensive reports. According to Mr.Venugopal following the submissions of these reports, one tk ine discussions were held with each observer as well as with senior observers.
