Four year old injured in Dewar village of Kot block in Pauri Garhwal

Amid incessant deadly attacks on the villagers and children of Garhwal Uttarakhand one more tragedy occured in Pauri Garhwal district’s Kot block where a four year boy was grievously injured by a maneater. The incident is related to Dewar village in Pauri Garhwal ‘s Kot block where this morning a four year boy was attacked and injured by a maneater Leopard.

According to the village head Gaurav, this morning 4-year-old Anmol was in the Anganwadi centre, during which a leopard clandestinely in wait for human prey suddenly attacked Anmol.

An Anganwadi teacher saved the child’s life with great effort. The child was injured by the leopard attack. He was immediately brought to the District Hospital in Pauri for treatment. According to doctors, the child’s condition is currently normal.

The incident has sparked widespread anger among villagers, who say that leopard attacks and movements have been increasing in the area for the past several months. Even before this, leopard incidents have terrorized the people of Pauri.

A few days ago, a leopard killed a woman in the district’s Koti village. The very next day, Doval attacked another woman in Dhandri, seriously injuring her.

The continuous unfolding incidents are fueling fear and anger among villagers. Villagers say that despite repeated demands to the Forest Department and the administration, effective steps are not being taken, due to which leopard attacks are increasing instead of stopping.

Local public representatives submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Forest Conservator, demanding orders to kill the man-eating leopard.

This incident has caused both panic and anger among the villagers. Gaurav Rawat said that a memorandum jointly signed by a delegation has been submitted to the Deputy Forest Conservator and demanded to issue orders to kill the leopard. Villagers said that the ever-increasing number of incidents are frightening people. Who will be responsible if someone loses their life or property due to this panic?

They said that the administration should kill the man-eating leopard to prevent such unpleasant incidents from occurring in the area. Among those who submitted the memorandum were village head Gaurav, area panchayat member Dewar Prem Singh, district panchayat member Aradhana Devi, Gaurav Rawat, president of cooperative committee Vajli, Vivek Rawat, Gaurav Sagar, Nitin Rawat and other villagers.
