As the elections of five states are coming nearer, to go to polls next month and thereafter the general elections, both the ruling BJP led NDA government and the opposition I. N. D. I. A. and its important participant Congress have energised their efforts to defeat each other. Today Congress party got a shot in the arm when its several former ministers who had joined BJP earlier have returned back to their parent party joining Congress formally after meeting the Congress general secretary ( organisation) K. C. Venugopal in New Delhi. According to the latest news, the main reason for these four former Punjab ministers ( turncoats) joining Congress is because their bete noire Sunil Jakhar was appointed the Punjab chief and were feeling extremely sidelined and dejected in the saffron party. The four former Punjab ministers in Congress government n senior Akali Dal leaders who’ve joined Congress today are Balbir Singh Sadhu, Gurpreet Kangar, former MLA Raj Kumar Verka, Mohinder Rinwa, Hans Raj Joshan and Mohinder Sidhu. Those who met the senior general secretary K. C. Venugopal in Delhi and formally expressed their desire to join the Congress are : Rajkumar Verka, Balbir Singh Sidhu and Gurpreet Singh Kangar – from BJP, ( earlier minister in Congress Govt in Punjab) and Hans Raj Joshan, Dr. Mohinder Singh Rinwa, and Mohinder Singh Sidhu all from Samyukta Akali Dal. The Akali Dal leaders who’d joined Congress had been served the expulsion notice from their party by its disciplinary committee but they preferred to resign and join Congress. Meanwhile the Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said : Various senior leaders from Punjab including former cabinet ministers Balbir Singh Sidhu ji, Gurpreet Kangaroo, former MLA Raj Kumar Verka ji, Mohinder Rinwa ji, Hansraj Joshanji, and Meet Mohinder Sidhu ji has expressed their desire to join Congress apart from Akali Dal leaders. He heartily welcomed them saying that the party will be revitalised and strengthened in Punjab by these important leaders joining Congress. Various senior leaders from Punjab including former cabinet ministers Balbir Sidhu ji & Gurpreet Kangar Ji, former MLA Raj Kumar Verka Ji, Mohinder Rinwa Ji, Hans Raj Joshan Ji & Jit Mohinder Sidhu Ji, Kamaljeet Dhillon ji S/o former MLA Amrik singh Dhillon Ji, Amarjeet singh sidhu (Mayor Mohali) have expressed their desire to join @INCIndia in the presence of AICC Gen Sec Incharge @kcvenugopalmp ji. They will be formally inducted into the party fold in Punjab in the presence of senior @INCPunjab leadership.
