Nine dead, four bodies retrieved after a car with nine passengers got swept away in Dhela river, near Ram Nagar, Uttarakhand

It seems that Uttarakhand is cursed with accidents one after another claiming several lives incessantly, either in landslides, boulders falling from mountains and debris claiming lives after lives. During monsoon season especially the mountain areas are not prone for visits. Even at places over flooded rivers are also claiming lives as happened today in Dhela river near Ramnagar, Uttarakhand where four dead bodies of tourists have been recovered on Friday morning after an Artiga car loaded with nine persons including a child got swept away in this river due to heavy tides. It is believed that all the nine are dead and the bodies of the rest five are being retrieved by rescue teams. The details of the accidents are awaited but the rescue operation is in full swing. The tourists included people from Punjab including the locals. This tragic incident occurred during the early morning hours and the district administration, police authorities and rescue teams are desperately busy in the operation. The car was coming from Ram Nagar near Dhela river precincts when this tragedy occured. They had earlier stayed in a resort and were coming back in Artiga car with nine persons on board. The deaths occured due to asphyxiation ( loss of oxygen) after the tourists were drowned in the river.
