Four days gone and desperate Dr. Harak Singh Rawat still waiting for Congress invitation

After the veteran Congress leader and chief election strategist of UttarKhand Congress, former CM Harish Rawat excusing the former BJP minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat after his, seeking apologies one lakh times in media, even after four days of a desperate wait in Delhi expecting invitation from Congress leaders, the latter has not been invited to join the 125 year old party.

Though there are confirmed indications that Dr. Harak Singh Rawat will be admitted in the party but the Congress high command is waiting for the right moment depending on the president Ganesh Godiyal, Uttarakhand incharge Devendra Yadav and leader of the opposition Pritam Singh who are trying their best to felicitate Dr. Rawat’s entry in the party despite strong opposition from Harish Rawat and his supporters viz Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta, Kedarnath MLA Manoj Rawat n several others who have publicly blamed him as a non trusted politician carrying a tag of Dal Badloo who’s destabilised the Congress government in 2016, the sin that can’t be excused.

Meanwhile a district Congress chief of Rudraprayag has also resigned in protest against Dr. Rawat’s addmission in Congress party. Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has put the ball in the court of the camp of Uttarakhand incharge Devendra Yadav, Pritam Singh and President Ganesh Godiyal who are trying hard to admit Dr. Rawat into Congress fold. Now according to latest news the Congress party has fixed certain preconditions for Dr. Rawat, like giving only one ticket for his daughter in law former Miss India from Lansdowne and at the most to him as well but not from Kotdwar from where it has the former minister n MLA Surendra Singh Negi, nor from Kedarnath from where it has Manoj Rawat, it’s sitting MLA strongly in opposition to Dr. Rawat, from where he was claiming ticket in BJP. Dr. Harak Singh Rawat has now expressed his desire to contest from Doiwala, from where sitting MLA former CM has expressed his desire nit to contest. Other options of Dr. Rawat are Chowbattakhal seat from where Satpal Maharaj is the sitting MLA and Congress has two time loser Rajpal Bisht, Rahul Gandhi’s nominee.

There are reports of Dr. Rawat spoken to Uttarakhand Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal and Uttarakhand Congress in charge Devendra Yadav including Pritam Singh. It has also been learnt that there is pressure on Dr. Rawat to campaign extensively for Congress n BJP’s defeat in Uttarakhand as one the precondition. But despite all this Dr Rawat want two tickets one for himself n another for his daughter in law.

However, in Lansdowne there are two strong contenders trying since long to get the Congress ticket especially bereft of the apprehension earlier when Dr. Rawat was in BJP. These two contenders are Jyoti Rautela, a national Mahila Congress office bearer brought into politics by Dr. Rawat himself earlier when he was in Congress n another former state minister and vice president of Uttarakhand Congress. Dhirendra Pratap has shot a letter to former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi not to entertain Dr. Rawat in Congress n her daughter in law should not be given ticket from Lansdowne.

He wrote that the daughter in law of Harak Singh Rawat has nothing to do with the social service or Congress. He said the Anukriti Gusain is using the political influence of her father in law to bag the Congress ticket this killing the interests of those who had been working for Congress and are ticket claimants this time.

According to senior journalist and political analyst Gyan Bhadra Harak Singh Rawat’s fervent desire to enter congress, after being expelled from BJP, has refreshed the memory of Haryana’s “Aya Ram Gaya Ram” politics of ’80s. His entry into congress is most likely to prove fatal for the party. If at all this turncoat – politician gets entry, then there are ample chances of party witnessing revolt within and outside it.

Also as a consequence, morale of chief election strategist of congress, Harish Rawat will stoop to such a low as thwarting the on-going well meaning campaign of party.
