Former Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar’s resignation is becoming a mystery. Rashtrapati Bhavan has given two different RTI replies

An R.T.I. activist namely Ajay Kumar Bose resident of Amravati Maharashtra has sought information under the RTI act 2005 from Rashtrapati Bhawan regarding the resignation of the former vice president Jagdeep Dhankar asking whether the president secretariat had any information on his resignation and came the reply on 20 th August ,2025 from Rashtrapati Bhawan that the President secretariat had not information on this, clearly meaning that it’s denying having any knowledge about the resignation of the former Vice President Dhankar whose resignation was itself a huge controversy with news appearing in Newspaper front line headlines.

The reply further said that the ministry of Home affairs had notified the resignation vide Gazette notification No. 3354 E dated 22.7.2025.

When the unsatisfied petitioner again filed the RTI application seeking the reasonable answer the response received by him on 4 September ,2023 quoting Rastrapati Bhawan credible sources by President’s Secretariat after a month was just the opposite of the earlier reply in which the President Secretariat had said that it had no information whatsoever on this.

The one month later reply said : As per the information maintained by the secretariat Sh. Jagdeep Dhankar met the honourable President in 21 .7.25 at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The information further mentioned that Shri Jagdeep Dhankar had tendered his resignation on the same day , 21.7.25 and the MHA has notified it.

The point is how can a responsible and prestigious President’s Secretariat first deny on an information and then a month after accept about the former VP meeting the President and tendering his resignation, though it was already in public domain through news papers.

A senior journalist and new analyst K.P. Malik under the title Rashtrapati Bhavan backtracks on Dhankar case? writes on X :

Former Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar’s resignation is becoming a mystery. Rashtrapati Bhavan has given two different RTI replies to information sought by RTI activist Ajay Vasudev Bose on this issue.

The first reply came on August 20, in which it was said that the Rashtrapati Bhavan had no information about Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar coming to submit his resignation.

In the second RTI which came on 4th September, it is stated that the then Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar had met Her Excellency President Mrs. Murmu ji.

So should we assume that the Rashtrapati Bhawan is also turning around now? Because the surprising thing is that there is only one question and two answers? So does this mean that one of the answers is a lie? Then which one is a lie and which one is the truth? Who will decide this? Who will decide this? So does Rashtrapati Bhavan also have to lie? If yes, then why? What is the reason? asked the senior journalist and political analyst Malik.

It’s a wake up call for all the Himalayan States
