Former transport minister in Delhi government summoned by ED in new excuse policy ( now scrapped) and alleged liquor bribe case
The Delhi Transport Minister who had resigned today not only from his ministerial chair but also from the primary membership of the party was summoned by the enforcement directorate in connection with the Delhi government’s ‘new liquor excise policy and was interrogated for several hours.
Answering to the questions of media after emerging out of ED office, he catagorically said that since he wasn’t connected with the Goa elections in any way he isn’t aware of any election related development nor knows as to who was in-charge, observer of Goa and managed the elections.
He can’t respond to any query related to Goa elections or regarding any bribe paid or not paid in this election.
Kailash Gahlot was responding to the questions of mediamen who had posed one after another questions related to hundred crore bribe controversy supposedly collected from liquor barons during the new liquor policy of Delhi government, now scrapped and used in Goa elections.
He was mobbed by the electronic channel mediamen as soon as he arrived out of the ED office in the evening.
Regarding a question whether Vijay Niar, the middleman in the deal was living in his Civil Lines Bungalow , former transport minister didn’t answer it in a straightforward manner saying that since he wasn’t living in his official bungalow as my family was already living in Vasant Kunj and children studying in DPS near my house have refused to come here, I too was living there.
Hence I don’t know as to who lived in my bungalow ? Even, I had responded similarly to the CBI said Gehlot
Regarding questions pertaining to his interrogation by ED he said that ED officials asked questions about the new excise policy and I fully cooperated with them and answered all the questions satisfactorily. I was called at ED office at 11.30 AM and stayed there till 5.30 PM. On the query about the questions put forward by the ED he said I wasn’t cross questioned by anyone nor would I disclose the details about the questions posed to me and my answers as these proceedings are strictly confidential.
On being asked whether ED will call him again for probe or not , he smilingly said ED can call anyone , at any place ? When asked whether he would tell us about any question asked to him regarding the bribe of 100 crores , Kailash Gahlot said I can’t disclose the questions and answer to you as these are strictly confidential. He refused to answer any questions pertaining to the former and present CMs whether they could be called by the ED again or not.
