FORMER CM TRIVENDRA RAWAT SAYS HAD HIS DECISION OF DEWASTHANAM BOARD NOT REVOKED, RS 125 to 150 CRORES COLLECTED BY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH TO Resurrect SINKING JOSHIMATH on its own feet

While Uttarakhand’s holy town Joshimath is in extreme doldrums politicians are busy giving logics but literally not doing anything at ground zero. The practice of passing buck on one another is a common routine in politics, nothing new in this. As a sequel to this practice the former chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat who’d ruled for four long years out of total five due to his proximity to the union home minister Amit Shah, says that had my decision for forming Dewasthanam Board not shelved obviously by the next CM ( the present Pushkar Singh Dhami) it would have earned Rs 125 to 150 crores and this amount would have been fair enough to singularly resettle and rehabilitate Joshimath and its displaced population, making the holy town stand on its own feet fully resurrected. He says with anguish that probably he was not capable or in a position to convince those who opposed his decision regarding Dewasthanam Board. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that had his decision to form the Devasthanam board i. e takeover of the management of religious shrines of Uttarakhand including the four historic Dhams Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamnotri by Uttarakhand bot shaved / revoked the by the then government, it would have collected Rs 125 to 150 crores which would have been enough to cope with the current crucial situation of sinking Joshimath to make it stand again on its feet, not depending on the government. But unfortunately his decision was revoked as he was probably not capable of convincing the people who opposed it. It may be recalled that the entire priest community etc were in opposition to this decision of the then CM Trivendra Singh Rawat who had to face tremendous opposition in media n physical opposition as well when he visited Kedarnath Dham to pay his Obeisance. After Rawat was ousted as CM replaced by Tirath Singh Rawat n thereafter Pushkar Singh Dhami, all of them faced lots of resistence finally forcing CM Dhami to revoke the Dewasthanam Board decision maintaining the status quo.
