Former CM Harish Rawat to appear before CBI at Lodhi Road headquarter on 6 th November, 23

The former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat who was served notice by the sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation yesterday while he was convalescing at Jolly Grant Himalayan Institute at Rishikesh has been summoned at the CBI headquarter at Lodging Road,, New Delhi on 6 th November. The xerox copy of the notice addressed to Harish Rawat being circulated in social media says : In pursuance of order dated 17.07.2023 passed by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Anti Corruption ( CBI), Dehradun , you are hereby directed to appear before the undersigned on 06. 11.2023 at 10.30 hrs at O/O the Head of the Branch, Central Bureau of Investigation, Anti Corruption Branch – 1, Plot No : 5, B, CBI, HQ building, 8 th Floor, B, Wing, Lodging Road, New Delhi to give your voice sample and also for the purpose for answering certain questions relating to the case RC 216 2019, A 0005 U/S 120 B, r/w 7,8,9 and 12 of PC Act , 1988, ( Against Shri Harish Rawat and others). It may be recalled that the case pertains to a sting operation conducted by the then chief editor of a Dehradun based news channel Umesh Kumar now MLA from Khanpur, Rookie Uttarakhand against Harish Rawat, the then CM Uttarakhand at the Rishikesh, Jolly Grant Airport in which deliberations regarding alleged horse trading of MLAs were high lighted in the electronic news channels and print media creating quite a furore in the political corridors of Uttarakhand and centre, especially in BJP n Congress. About nine or more MLAs of Congress in Uttarakhand had then defected to Congress destabilising the then ruling party of Uttarakhand. The former chief minister Harish Rawat received the notice physically writing about the notice received while he is under treatment in hospital.
