Former CM Fadnavis agrees to become deputy CM working under his junior on the directives of the centre

The national president of Bhartiya Janata Party J. P. Nadda has said that the central leadership has taken a decision to direct former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to accept the centre’s proposal to become the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra in order to contribute in the development of the state and whole heartedly fulfill the aspirations of the people of Maharashtra. However, in his earlier statement while announcing the name of Shiv Sena rebel as the next CM to be sworn in this evening, Devendra Fadnavis had categorically said that he will not be the part of the council of ministers but would help the government in fulfilling its developmental agenda for the good of the people, party and the BJP. This important message of national party chief directing former CM Devendra Fadnavis to be the deputy CM working under his junior holds tremendous significance. However, till now there has been no reaction to the centre’s proposal from Fadnavis’s side. Meanwhile, all the necessary arrangements for the swearing in ceremony has been completed at governor’s house with Mumbai police chief and state’s chief secretary supervising all arrangements. There are reports that probably the setting up of the council of ministers comprising of BJP lawmakers, Shic Sena and some independent MLAs will take place after few days, not today. While there is immense jubilance in the BJP n Shiv Sena rebel camp there is total silence in Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena camp led by the outgoing CM Udhav Thakrey. According to latest news the former CM Fadnavis has while honouring the wishes and directives of the centre as narrated by Nadda, agreed to become the part of the council of ministers with deputy CM’s post.
