Former BSP MLA Haridas joins BJP in Uttarakhand
While the main opposition of Uttarakhand Congress party is fishing in turbulent waters with its leaders shifting their loyalties to the saffron party these days , the BJP is busy welcoming the former and sitting MLAs into its fold. Today it got another shot in the arm when a former BSP lawmaker of Uttarakhand joined BJP alongwith his good number of followers. The former BSP MLA Haridas took the primary membership of the saffron party in the presence of the state chief and RajyaSabha MP Mahendra Bhatt. The Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Bansal, Dhan Singh Rawat , cabinet minister etc were also present on this ocassion . Haridas, is believed to be instrumental in the victory of Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat. It may be recalled that on Haridwar seat the Cingressafter has not yet declared its candidates nor on Nainital seat whereas the candidates of BJP were already declared and they are busy making solid inroads in their pockets meeting electorates day and night n holding road shows and padyatras etc. The reason for the non declaration of the candidate in Haridwar is due to adamant attitude of the former CM of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat who is stuck demanding ticket for his son Virendra Rawat the former Uttarakhand Youth Congress chief. Rawat’s daughter is already the lawmaker from Haridwar ( Rural Assembly seat) and his wife too had contested from Haridwar seat previously to lose it. From Nainital seat the name of sitting MLA from Khatima who had defeated CM Pushkar Singh Dhami n former MP Mahendra Pal ‘s names are doing rounds. Sounds interesting and worrisome too, especially for Congressmen that the last date of filing of nomination is 27 th March and the Congress high command is funding it difficult to declare its candidates in these two seats particularly because the senior leaders are apprehensive to contest asking for tickets for non deserving family members.
