Five new ministers sworn in at Dehradun. Dhami cabinet is now full with requisite twelve ministers

The long pending expansion in Uttarakhand Council of ministers was today fulfilled after five new ministers were sworn in at Dehradun by the Governor Lt. General Gurmeet Singh in the presence of Uttarakhand CM and his entire cabinet.

The expansion materialises after the existing five vacancies due to the death and resignation of the then ministers.

The swearing in ceremony took place at Raj Bhawan and the five newly inducted ministers are : Khajan Das ( Dehradun) , Madan Kaushik ( Haridwar), Pradeep Batra , ( Roorkee) , Bharat Choudhary, ( Rudraprayag) and Ram Singh Kaida ( Nainital).

The newly appointed ministers have thanked the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for inducting them in the cabinet.

It may be recalled that when the BJP returned to power in 2022, nine ministers were sworn in with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

After the demise of the then transport minister Chandan Dass in 2023 and the resignation of Mr. Aggrawal the strength came down to seven ministers in the cabinet.

Since the constitutional provision accords permission for twelve ministers in Uttarakhand the new five ministers have been inducted.

Moreover this is the year of elections and the assembly elections of Uttarakhand are due for 2027.
