Five children swept away in high tides of rivulet water in Gauchar, three children rescued , two admitted in hospital in unconscious condition

There is yet another tragic news coming in from Gauchar, Chamoli Garhwal , Uttarakhand about five children having been swept away in the high tides of a rivulet’s flood water due to massive rainfall out of which three children have been rescued after tremendous efforts of the SDRF and the local police rescue teams including the locals.

According to the latest news five children were swept away in a rainy stream in the village Panai under the Gauchar police station area in Chamoli district.

Three children were rescued safely and two others were taken to the hospital in an unconscious state.

Today, on 14th July 2025, information was received from Police Outpost Gochar that 02 to 03 children are trapped in a stream near Panai village.

On the said information, a sub-team from SDRF Post Gauchar immediately left for the spot under the leadership of Sub Inspector Jagmohan Singh.

On reaching the spot, it was found that a total of five children were trapped in the stream. The SDRF team along with the local people carried out a quick rescue operation and rescued three children safely.

The remaining two children were swept away in the strong current of the stream and were found unconscious after tireless efforts by the team.

Considering the critical condition, both the children were brought to the main road, approximately 3 kms from the site of incident, for first aid, from where they were sent to the hospital for further treatment.
