FIRST LIST OF 39 CANDIDATES OF CONGRSS RELEASED, RAHUL TO CONTEST FROM WAYANAD, KERALA
The first list of Congress candidates from 39 constituencies have been released today. The BJP has released its list of 195 candidates two days ago. The Congress list has been released after being finalised by the Central Election Committee of Congress party chaired by the chief Mallikarjun Kharge. The list includes the name of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi from Waynad, Kerala who is currently busy in his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra acknowledging tremendous positive response. The former chief minister of Chattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel’s name also appears in this list from Rajnandgaon, Chattisgarh. The list also shows the new of general secretary ( organisation) K.C.Venugopal from Allapuzha Kerala and Dr Shashi Tharoor’s name from Thrivamtapuram, Kerala. The list declared six candidates from Chattisgarh, seven from Karnataka, fifteen from Kerala, one from Lakshadweep, two from Meghalaya, one each from Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura and four from Telangana. According to the general secretary ( Organisation) Mr.Venugopal in the first list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress CEC has selected 39 names. • 15 candidates are from the General category • 24 candidates are from SC, ST, OBC and minority groups • 12 candidates are below 50 years of age • 8 candidates are in the age group 50–60 • 12 are in the age group 61-70 • 7 candidates are in the age group 71-76.
The lists of Uttarakhand Pradesh , Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Gujarat etc are still pending and may take some time before they are released.
