Fire in the 2 nd floor of Home ministry, North Block building on Tuesday. Douzed by fire tenders
While the elections campaigning was on, in the entire country, a news about the eruption of fire in the second floor building created quite a sensitisation in the official and media circles.
The fire in the second floor of the North Block where the home ministry office functions , there was tremendous panic among the staff after they noticed the fire emanating on Tuesday morning.
The calls were made to fire department immediately and about seven fire tenders were pressed into service whose staff dozed the fire finally at 9.55 AM.
According to the Delhi Fire Service officer though there is no news about anyone getting injured but a Xerox machine, some computers, fans and some documents have been damaged in this fire.
The report reveals that the fire spread gradually after a short circuit initially but was controlled in time.
The union home minister was in Kotdwar Garhwal in connection with the election campaigning but there were senior and junior officers including staff in the building. The fire had started at 9.20 and it took just 35 minutes to douze it said the DFS official.
