Three sisters in Vijay Enclave hailing from Ukhand, assaulted. FIR lodged today on 7th day

Three innocent sisters living in Vijay Enclave, Palm Colony have been physically assaulted and abused by some anti social elements of the area and allegedly threatened of further severe consequences if they complain against them in the police even going to the extent of allegedly threatening of rape.

An FIR has been registered in the Dabri police station on Tuesday at 11.45 AM, 7 days after this obnoxious incident and that too after great efforts of the victimised sisters, their relatives including social activists hailing from social organisations who had met the deputy commissioner of police and acknowledged the assurance of protection n registration of the FIR.

The three victimised sisters and socio political activist Ishwar Singh Rawat and Prithvi Rawat who were at the Dabri police station to rescue these girls have in a vedio message openly blamed and accused the Dabri police station IO of the case of deliberately delaying the registration of FIR against the culprits despite the victims standing at the police station since morning urging him to take action against the guilty and give them police protection by lodging the FIR.

It took six to seven days to lodge an FIR say these sisters who had been constantly urging the SHO and IO to lodge the FIR against culprits but of no avail.

It was only after the intervention of the DCP and the outraged persons of the locality coming to their support that the FIR was finally lodged say sources.

Social activist Ishwar Rawat has in a vedio message appealing to further share it in social media, already going viral, has accused the SHO and IO of Dabri police station of not cooperating with the girls assaulted by about fifteen persons who had forcibly tried to enter their house and threatened with dire consequences even trying to allegedly outrage their modesty.

The anguished and distressed girls complained of physically assaulting them, abusing , even threatening to rape them including allegedly touching one of the sisters inappropriately thus allegedly amounting to outraging her modesty .

Social activist Ishwar Rawat said that despite the assurance by the DCP of the area of strict action against the culprits, the Investigating officer of Dabri Police station, delayed registration of FIR allegedly giving an impression as if he is working at the behest of some local politicians coming to alleged rescue of the culprits.

There was constant pressure on the girls to compromise with the culprits and were never cooperated, rather asked to go back home in a harsh language said Ishwar Rawat.

The exasperated and terrorised sisters while feeling badly threatened have appealed to the senior police officers to take stringent action against the culprits by bringing them to justice and ensure their police protection.

They said that if the custodians of law will allegedly favour the wrongdoers and not co-operate with the victims than where will the victims go to seek justice ?

It may be recalled that the three sisters of Vijay Enclave, Plan Colony were assaulted n abused on 16 th and it took six days for the police to lodge an FIR against the culprits. Ishwar Rawat added that these victimised girls have been going to Dabri police station since then but their requests and urges to lodge FIR and punish the guilty went into their deaf ears.

It may recalled that a 19 year old girl living in Qutub Vihar from Garhwal Uttarakhand was brutally raped n murdered in the year 2012 by three human beats and the then police of the area didn’t filed FIR in time finally submitting to the pressure of outrageous local residents demanding lodging of FIR n subsequent stringent punishment to the culprits. It took almost two years of hectic judicial trial when on 19 th February, 2014 the Dwarka fast track session Court awarded death penalty to the three accused. There were hundreds of protests, candle marches n sit in in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and outside the Dwarka court demanding death to the culprits. The case is awaiting the supreme court’s final decision after the Delhi high Court had upheld the lower court’s decision.

Meanwhile the victimised three sisters of Vijay Enclave have submitted the copy of the FIR and memorandum to the largest representative body of Garhwalies in Delhi requesting them to take up their case at the highest level of the government to punish the guilty stringently and give them due justice. In a letter written to Delhi police commissioner S. N. Srivastava, IPS the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha has demanded strong action in the matter to give due justice to the victimised sisters. They have enclosed the copy of the FIR and memorandum from the complainants.
