The senior journalist Ajit Anjum ran his own popular channel with the subscribership of 7.53 millions. He was earlier the managing editor of News 24 channel.
The Begusarai district magistrate has lodged an FIR against him said the daring journalist Anjum in his latest video who is in Begusarai and other districts to cover various news related stories these days in view of the Election Commission’s SIR of Bihar electorates under process these days.
Ajit Anjum and his crew had yesterday covered a few polling stations in Begusarai and found several anomalies during the filling of forms and loading it in computers incomplete without photos or several columns unfilled etc.
These anomalies were on a big scale with the BLOs drawing a sorry posture feeling guilty. The senior journalist even got several calls from the BLOs and even his relatives who these officials approached to convince Ajit Anjum not to publish the video in his channel.
After tremendous pressure when the daring journalist Anjum who believes in highlighting the truth refused to bow down to their pressure and streamed the video on his channel AAA , all hell broke down on him.
An FIR under various sections of BNS has been registered against him in the Begusarai police station. Anjum said that he had sensed it yesterday after a press release was issued saying that one of the channels is spreading rumours and creating obstacles in the functioning of the BLOs and election commissions work in Bihar which is arbitrary.
Anjum said that he is very much in Begusarai and surrounding districts and if asked he will surrender at the necessary police station as he has done nothing wrong but had rather highlighted the anomalies in the process of filling forms of the electorates with several anomalies.
He catagorically said that a journalist’s duty is to bring the wrong doings or anomalies to the knowledge of the authorities concerned and the EC in this regard. Therefore he is not at all apprehensive rather waiting for the call to be present anywhere to answer everything as he is executing his duties as a transparent Journalist highlighting the inconsistencies and mistakes in the work of the BLOs and the EC in Begusarai, Bihar district.
He says : He is deliberately in Bihar and had nothing to worry or hide and is ready to confront any consequences said Ajit Anjum on his channel AAA.
