Family of three dead after their house buried under debris of avalanche due to heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh

In these days of proactive social media – sad tragic news from distant corners of the country are pouring in, during the ongoing monsoon season, especially from Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of the country shaking everyone from inside with so frequent and so many casualties in sight.

While in Uttarakhand more than forty deaths have been reported from different parts of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions due to heavy rains, cloud bursts and subsequent overflowing of over flooded rivers leading to massive avalanches and landslides killing people instantaneously including collosal loss of houses and properties, a tragedy in sub tehsil Kotgarh, Panavali, in Kumargarh subdivision of Himachal Pradesh under Madhvani Panchayat – an entire family of three has been wiped out after a house they were living in collapsed due to heavy rains. According to the latest reports the husband, wife and son have died under debris due to asphyxiation. Anil’s son of Jaichand age about 32 years, Kiran – wife of Anil Kapoor and Swapnil’s son Anil Kapoor aged 11 years have died due to being buried in a landslide debris after their house collapsed due to heavy rain. The parents were reportedly young under the age bracket of thirty five years and the son below ten years. May the Almighty render peace to the departed souls.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand has been put on orange alert mode after the meteorological department of Uttarakhand warned about heavy uncontrolled rains in both Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. The police, state disaster management authorities as well as the health department have been asked to remain vigilant and ready to counter and face any eventuality. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also cautioned the pilgrims of char dham to give up their pilgrimage for now and resume them after the situation improves.
