An eminent Hindi and Garhwali writer and poet Mr. Balendu Badola breathed his last at Kotdwar, Garhwal yesterday sending shock waves all around. He was 90 years old. Born on 28 September, 1934 at village Garudbith, Maletha, Patti : Guradsiun, Ekeshwar in Uttarakhand Balendu Badola was an academic person having done his BACK, BT from DAV college, Dehradun and RB Degree from Agra. Having been active in writing for the last five decades Balenduji has authored several books on children stories, humour, stories in English and Garhwali dialects and retired from government service after serving for thirty years 30 years in ‘Senior Quality’ Assurance Establishment (General Stores) Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh) of Ministry of Defence, retiring in the year 1993 after excellent service . Apart from this his stories, articles and children’s literature were published in papers of repute like Amar Ujala, Navbharat Times, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan, Nav Satyam, Dainik Bhaskar, Rashtriya Buniyad, Khabar Saar etc. His, articles were regularly published in
Nandan, Parag, Champak, Kadambani, Weekly Hindustan, Dharmayug, Sarita, Griha Shobha, Bal Hans, Saras Salil, Navneet, Pratibha, Souvenir, Bal Bharti, Lallu Panju, Bal Prahari, Nok Jhonk, Achhe Bhaiya, Bal Nagar, Satyapath, Sevagram, Karma Bhoomi, Hilans, Shailvani, Garhdwar, Hamari Chitthi, Yugvani, Rant Raibar, Letters, letters etc.
He is credited for his story “Hindi Bal Bharti” being included with royalty from the year 2006 till date in the fifth class, Maharashtra state text book under the title “Ghamandi Ka Sir Nicha”.
The collection of writings of Shri “Balendu Badola” has been published in five editions.
His posy of poems : “From the Realm of Memories” in September 2015 honored by Shri Ajay Tamta (Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India) at a reception and release of the poetry collection.
His story collection titled tumhaare liye ” was published in August 2016 whereas collection of Garhwali poems, stories, satires and articles published in “Aas” March 2017. Our heartfelt richest tributes to this great celebrated writer, poet and literaturer. RIP, OM Shanti

28 सितंबर, 1934 अपने पर्वतीय ग्राम गरुड़बिट(मलेथा), पट्टी-गुराडस्यू, एकेश्वर(उत्तराखंड) में।
शिक्षा :
बी.एस.सी., बी.टी., डी.ए.वी. कालेज, देहरादून(उत्तराखंड) एवं आर.बी. डिग्री कालेज आगरा (उ.प्र.) से उत्तीण।
व्यवसाय :
रक्षा मंत्रालय के ‘वरिष्ठ गुणवत्ता’ आश्वासन स्थापना (सामान्य भण्डार) शाहजहांपुर (उ.प्र.) से 30 वर्ष की, एन.जी.ओ. पद पर उत्कृष्ठ सेवा के पश्चात् वर्ष 1993 में सेवा निवृत्त।
पिता : स्व. श्री शिव दयाल बडोला, भूतपूर्व हवलदार मेजर (एजुकेशन).
मंत्री – काॅपरेटिव सोसायटी रैंसोली (गुराडस्यूं), चौंदकोट जन साध्य गाड़ी सड़क.

साहित्य लेखन कार्य : पांच दशकों से लेखन में सक्रिय। पर्याप्त संख्या में हिन्दी, अंग्रेजी तथा गढ़वाली कहानियां, व्यंग, लेख, बाल-साहित्य (कविताएं, कहानियों सहित) विभिन्न राष्ट्रीय स्तर की पत्र-पत्रिकाओं में पूरे भारत वर्ष में पर्याप्त रूप में प्रकाशित होता रहा है।
