The eminent environmentalist of world fame, Padmavibhushan nonagenarian Sunderlal Bahuguna has been admitted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh. Several relevant tests are being conducted on him. This information was revealed by his elder son freelance journalist Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna. In a message Rajiv Bahuguna wrote in Hindi : Got my father admitted in AIIMS, Rishikesh just now. Medical Investigations are in progress. The entire country is compelled to suffer due to a person’s incompetence.
May the dieties of history fulfil their wishes. All friends are requested to be safe n secure. He added that he is repeating the narration of a prominent Shayar, ( Urdu poet) Mansoor in the present context : Someone has clandestinely escaped with our clothes, food, oxygen cylinders and masks wrote senior journalist and son of eminent veteran environmentalist Sunderland Bahuguna.
It may be recalled that Chipko fame environmentalist Sunder Lal Bahuguna is 92 years old is a globally famed environmentalist having been honoured with prestigious international lively hood and Megsaysay awards including prestigious Padamashree, Padmavhushan and Jamunalal Bajaj Awards for his significant contribution in Chipko movement and to promote environmental safeguards in India and abroad including mobilising people across the world.
The exact reason for his admission in AIIMS has not been disclosed till yet except the fact that he is under medical examination and monitoring of doctors at AIIMS, Rishikesh. However, in the Facebook post hundreds of his followers have wished him speedy recovery speculating Corona infection, saying that he is a strong fighter and will battle out this dreaded virus. Sunderlal Bahuguna is 93 yrs old and his admirers are highly optimistic of the former’s successfully crossing hundred in the future. Get well soon Sir.
