Eight deaths in Harinagar J.J.Cluster after a dilapidated temple wall falls on them due to incessant rain

During monsoon ecological disasters and accidents go side by side and the people of the lowest strata of the society in particular living in temporary hutments or houses needing repairs and renovation are the worst sufferer unaware that tragedy is in store for them. This is what has happened in Delhi’s Hari Nagar locality today morning where eight people of the family were killed after a wall in view of it being in dilapidated condition fell in them burying them with cries underneath .

According to the latest news the tragedy happened at 9.00 in the morning and the fire brigade received the call at 9.16 AM.

The three fire extinguisher vehicles immediately rushed to the tragedy spot alongwith the Delhi police personnel too.

Though the reason being given for these tragic deaths are wall collapse but the police is trying to ascertain the deaths from all angles.

According to the additional DCP South East Delhi Aishwarya Sharma “There is an old temple here, and next to it are old jhuggies were situated owned by the scrap dealers who also live in these jhuggis. The wall of the old temple collapsed due to heavy rain overnight. 8 people were trapped and were rescued and taken to the hospital. They are undergoing treatment. We don’t know how many people died, but according to us, 3-4 people are seriously injured, who may not survive. We have now evacuated these jhuggies so that no such incident occurs in future.” Said the DCP.

The victims were identified as Shibhu age 30, Rabibul age 30, Muttui Ali, age 45,Rubina, age 25, Ruksana 6 years old and Hasina 7 years of age.
