An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale with its epic centre being Afghanistan was felt by several state of India viz UP, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and NCR etc at 10.20 PM on Tuesday. Though there have been no casualty in India but the earthquake, third since January 5 have been with its epic centre in Hindu Kush Afghanistan was badly felt and people from skyscrapers in Noida, Ghaziabad and several Delhi localities came down running with family members and children via staircases in multi storeyed building. The earthquake tremors were reportedly felt for few seconds by some and minute and a half for some others varying from state to state. The panic stricken residents on the ground especially in Noida and greater Noida said that they have not experienced such a powerful tremors ever. According to Mr. Sharma, weather scientist since Delhi and NCR are in Zone 4 , an earthquake of this magnitude I. e. 6.6 on Richter Scale is quite an effective earthquake. As per the latest news a building in Shakarpur after the earthquake has been tilted. However, the exact details of this tilted building are yet to be acknowledged. Several house in Ganga Nagar, in Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir have developed cracks after these tremors that last for more than a minute. According to an automated report generated by the national Center for Seismology , the 6.6 magnitude quake struck 133 kilometres South East of Faizabad in Afghanistan.
