DRDO’s succesful flight test of New Generation Nuclear capable ballistic missile Agni P

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight tested a New Generation Nuclear Capable Ballistic Missile Agni P from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island off the coast of Odisha, Balasore at 1055 hrs on June 28, 2021. Various telemetry and radar stations positioned along the eastern coast tracked and monitored the missile. The missile followed text book trajectory, meeting all mission objectives with high level of accuracy. 

Agni P is a new generation advanced variant of Agni class of missiles. It is a canisterised missile with range capability between 1,000 and 2,000 kms.

The union Defence minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Defence Research Development Organisation on the ocassion of the successful launching of Agni P, advance variant of Agni class of missiles saying that it was the cumulative effort of the team behind the mission. Complimenting DRDO the Defence minister tweeted : Many advance tecnologies including Composites, Propulsion systems, innovative Guidance and Control mechanisms and state of the art navigating systems have been introduced. He added that the Agni P missile would further strengthen India’s credible Deterrence capabilities tweeted union defence minister.
