Dr. Arun Khugsal nominated as Ombudsman to resolve MNREGA issues in Pauri Garhwal

A prominent personality of Uttarakhand Dr. Arun Khugsal has been appointed as the ombudsman of union government’s over ambitious Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Generation Scheme to hear and resolve the complex matters, complaints and grievances.

Dr. Khugsal has been appointed as the ombudsman of Pauri Garhwal district’s MANREGA Scheme on the recommendation of the government’s selection committee.

An intellectual to the core and a prominent social activist and writer Dr. Arun Khugsal has been writing on significant socio economic, literary and historical issues of Uttarakhand in social media and in reputed vernacular n national media as well, highlighting n educating people across spectrum on issues pertaining to Uttarakhand himalayas with regard to environment and other significant issues of socio economic relevance.

He voluntarily quit his job in 2016 and prefered a life of a roving intellectual n a writer meeting cross section of people and mobilising them towards research n education especially youth and women of the hills leading a struggleful life.

According to Chandrakant Tiwari, a renowned social scientist, trainer, eminent writer and a highly enlightened social activist friend Dr. Arun Khugsal after voluntarily quittung from service in 2016, he headed towards his village in the interiors of Kaljikhal block in Patti Aswalsiun, Pauri, Garhwal, Uttarakhand with the sole aim n determination to educate the children n youngsters including women in order to empower them with knowledge n job orientation in the near future to make them financially self reliant and better citizens of the state and the nation.

Fully determined and committed to the socio educational and economic upliftment of the villagers Dr. Khugsal, with the support of the government opened a well studded library in his village inculcating the habit of reading to seek knowledge including training them in computer education which is still continuing, thus moulding the future of the upcoming generation. His invaluable contribution in career making of the youngsters of interior villages of Kaljikhal block in Pauri Garhwal district cannot be ruled out. There is jubilance amongst the inhabitants of Pauri Garhwal district on Dr. Arun Khugsal’s appointment as Lokpal in MANREGA to resolve complex matters and grievances of the affected people.
