The law and order situation in Uttarakhand seems to be going completely haywire with six back to back tragic incidents of gruesome murders reported in just 14 days.
Here we are not taking of the incidents of communal hatred as one happened in Kotdwar where too the law enforcing agencies are reportedly and allegedly a mere spectator for those who are literally spreading hatred by creating “Majority Minority” divide and lodging FIR against those who actually tried to pacify the mob or countered those creating communal disturbances in the name of forcibly changing the sign board of “BABA dress shop’ being run for the last thirty protracted years by a Muslim proprietor.
In Dehradun the state capital, while three back to back murders took place two week ago in which a girl’s throat was slitted in broad daylight, another girl’s mutilated body was found behind bushes who was a 12 th class student and in a third case a young women being killed by bullets at AIIMS Rishikesh.
What actually surprised and shocked all is the fact that after three back to back gruesome murders just two days after another broad daylight murder took place in hectic Tibatti Market in which a Gas shop owner Arjun Sharma, son of a late Colonel was killed in which the Dehradun police have exhibited tremendous interest on the orders of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arresting all the four culprits.
As if this was not enough, another diabolical murder took place a day after in Haldwani in which two two young boy and girl Shubham Tamata and Lakshmi were thrashed to genocidal death by thrashing their heads with large stones at Godown Galla Mandi on Bareilly Road on Thursday morning.
According to he latest news and police information the two dead bodies after a double murder were found with their heads and faces badly smashed with large stones which initially made it dificult for the police to identify their faces.
After recovering the identity/ adhar cards from their dead bodies it was revealed that one was Shubham Tamta, aged 25 years old boy from Almora and another girl aged 19 laxmi who was the second year old student. The boy served as Supervisor at a rehabilitation centre and the girl lived in an hired accommodation at Haldwani.
According to the police all the four accused behind this most tragic diabolical murder have been arrested based on a complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s relative, Suresh Chandra Pokharia.
An FIR was registered at Kotwali Haldwani under Section 103(1) of the BNS. Four accused who were arrested later in the evening were identified as Gaurav Negi (25) of Vasundhara Colony; Saurabh Bhatt (20) of Teenpani Khanna Farm; Deepu Sharma (20) of Vasundhara Colony; and Deepesh Latwal (25) of Uttaranchal Vihar, all residents of Haldwani. Both the deceased boy and girl had attended a party in the evening before this tragedy happened.
According to the SSP Manjunath all the culprits were banned from the CCTV footage. According to the police interrogation all the six were having drinks and some of the accused started reading the girl luxmi to which Shubham Tamta and the girl strongly resented. The quarrel turned violent and all the four accused smashed their heads with large stones leading to the diabolical deaths of both the boy and girl Shubham and Laxmi. This incident send shock Waves all around.
