DISGRUNTLED VINESH PHOGAT STILL IN PARIS, WAITING FOR THE CAS JUDGEMENT TO BE DELIVERED ON AUGUST 16

Tomorrow is 15 th August and the entire country would be celebrating the India’s 78 th Independence Day anniversary with pomp and show with prime minister addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort where he would definitely be taking the names of the Olympics medalists who have raised the Indian flag high in Paris Olympics winning back to back six medals, one Silver and five Bronze.

However, while the entire nation would be celebrating the India’s Independence Day the nation would definitely be missing the towering woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat who unfortunately has been kept out of the final competition in Paris despite her entering the final defeating back to back three eminent women wrestlers one from Japan, a World number four time champion and Gold medalist from Japan and two others from Ukraine and Cuba to face and American wrestler in the finals.

Vinesh Phogat had been disqualified in the final match because of her weight going up by mere 100 grams. Sounds shocking.

The entire country including the prime minister Narendra Modi are speaking very high of her despite her disqualification because everyone knows that Vinesh is a brilliant wrestler who was highly hopeful of getting the Gold having qualified the quarterfinal and the semifinal in a single day entering the finals but hard lucked Vinesh couldn’t make it as her weight was up by 100 grams.

Vinesh Phogat has filed her case in the Court of Arbitration for sports led by the chief justice from America who will pass on the judgement in 16 th August.

Vinesh has appealed to consider her for joint Silver medal as she had already qualified the quarterfinal and semifinal being disqualified on the day of the final match.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports had already announced that it would give the judgement on the concluding day of the Paris Olympics but the judgement was now fixed for 16 th August. Disgruntled Vinesh has instead of coming to India preferred staying back in Paris waiting optimistically for the judgement for Silver medal on 16 th August.

In India the relatives, family members , fans, followers and members of the fraternity including entire media n her millions of fans are very curiously waiting for her arrival at Palam international Airport at New Delhi.

There have been very encouraging comments for Vinesh Phogat saying that she should get an extremely resounding welcome at Delhi’s Palam Airport and thereafter as well considering her to be a Gold medal winner as injustice has been committed against her say even PM, Union minister Sports, each and every leader of opposition and entire sports fraternity of the country and countrymen. Kudos.

Though the individual back to back two medals winners one Gold and another Silver in two Olympics in Tokyo and Paris Neeraj Chopra has come back to India with flying colours he posed for a photograph with Vinesh while in Paris three days ago. He said : “People will remember her [Vinesh Phogat] for sometime and say ‘you’re our champion’ but if she doesn’t get the medal then they’ll forget her, that’s my fear. I request people to not forget what Vinesh has done for the country” – Neeraj Chopra. These comments were posed in social media.
