There are reports that the controversial Director of horticulture and food processing, Uttarakhand Dr. Harminder Singh Baweja against whom there were alleged charges of corruption has been suspended on the directives of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday and attached with the office of Garhwal commissioner with immediate effect.
The suspension orders were issued by the secretary Deependra Kumar Choudhary today.
It may be recalled that a social activist of Kumaon division of Uttarakhand Deepak Kargetti , an MLA Durgesh Lal and Guinness World Book Record holder for growing the tallest Coriander plant, also known as apple man of Uttarakhand Gopal Upreti and some other activists have been raising issues of alleged corruption in the Horticulture department of Uttarakhand targetting Director Harminder Singh Baweja who had joined in Uttarakhand Government’s horticulture department from Himachal Pradesh about two to three years ago not having a good track record there too reveal sources.
There had been several complaints of alleged corruption against Dr Baweja and several letters sent to the chief minister as well as Governor Uttarakhand by the above social activists against ongoing irregularities in the Horticulture Department of Uttarakhand under his charge.
While welcoming the decision of the chief minister to suspend the erring director, horticulture – Gopal Upreti today held a live Facebook talk and revealed that he is being falsely implicated conspiratorially by Dr. Baweja through one Sanjay Murari who’d filed a wrong affidavit against him by levelling false and biased charges of capturing vast forest) govt land to run his apple orchard in Uttarakhand despite the fact that alongwith the same complaint submitted to Dr. Baweja by the suspicious person Murari he has also affixed the Khatauni Khasra of the said land showing them Authentically in my ( Gopal Upreti’s name) which unambiguously substantiate that the said land is mine and the charge levelled are frivolous and concocted.
He appealed to the chief minister to probe the mischief being done by suspended director against him and asked him to bring Sanjay Murari to the front to substantiate his charges failing which he will be constrained to initiate severe legal action against the erring director.
Gopal Upreti in his live FB telecast carried out on Monday night has said that not only is he issuing a legal notice to the suspended director but would be meeting the Uttarakhand governor Sir and Chief Minister to expose the the ill conceived designs of Dr. Harminder Baweja in the near future to allegedly falsely implicate him in case.
