UK DGP, IPS Ashok Kumar warns of strict legal action against those drinking in open n creating nuisance, FIR lodged under five sections of IPC after a video went viral in social media

The Uttarkhand police will not spare people consuming liquor in the open in public places especially after it noticed several videos of people consuming liquor in the open going viral in social media. These days it has become a fashion for some people to make tik toks or shooting videos with background music to get maximum likes, comments and shares for personal publicity exhibiting themselves consuming liquor in the open inviting negative comments from social media users. This exhibition of liquor consumption in the open is though illegal and arbitrary but people being afraid of consequences do not report. One such video went viral the other day in social media when a man namely Bobby Kataria’s video consuming liquor in the open on road probably in a hilly area went viral with some social media users tweeting against it. Few days ago a social activist of Dehradun, Uttarakhand Prabhat Kumar Karal and may be several other had tweeted annexing a video of this in their twitter handle tagging the PM, HM, CM Uttarakhand n others writing in hindi : Friends, This is all going on , on the roads. Then understand what would be the situation? Location seems to be of hills. We are optimistic from Modiji only tweeted Prabhat Kumar Saral tagging them with the video.

Meanwhile on Friday the DGP, Uttarakhand police, IPS Ashok Kumar took a very serious view of these law breakers writing on his Facebook : The Uttarakhand Police under its operation Maryaada ( dignity) campaign is taking severe legal action against those breaking laws in public places by way of creating nuisance and drinking liquor in public places. The Uttarakhand Police has registered an FIR under various relevant sections of law against Bobby Kataria assuring of necessary action wrote IPS, Ashok Kumar in his social media post. The Uttarakhand police has registered FIR in Dehradun Cantt under sections 290/510/336/342 of IPC n 67 IT Act after the DG Uttarakhand Police took suo motto of the various complaints in social media against Bobby Kataria, drinking in the open.

It may be recalled that in the past also several videos were posted in social media about some elements drinking liquor on roadsides creating nuisance and near the Ganges with people objecting to this illegal practice becoming a common affair, which is prohibited under the law.
