Despite CM’s assurance of buying Pirul at Rs 50 per kg, Pirul being sold at Rs.3 per kg raises several question marks ?

When there was extreme fire in jungles of Uttarakhand the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had been to Rudraprayag and had posted a message on his social media handle X along with his photograph as well collecting pine needles and announced that the government of the state has officially agreed to give Rs 50 on per kg of Pine needles collected and sold to the government agencies by the common people.

This initiative was taken by the chief minister in order to get rid of pine needles which help in expeditiously spreading jungle fires including giving a source of income to villagers to empower the youth and women, encouraging them to collect as much as needles they can to rid the jungles of pirul, the pine needles.

The decision of the chief minister was welcomed by one and all and termed as a very healthy initiative to empower the villagers giving them a source of income , but according to a message of the founder of SDC, Dehradun and renowned social activist Anoop Nautiyal, the pine needles collected and sold to the government agencies by people of Uttarakhand are receiving just Rs three on every kg of Peerul sold to them in contrast to the government policy of Rs 50 for every kg of Pirul sold.

In a post posted on social media handle X Anoop Nautiyal who is extremely active in various social initiative projects against pollution and rampant use of plastics n bio degradable waste etc he wrote that in the beginning of May 2024, at the height of forest fire incidents in # Uttarakhand , govt said that they would buy pirul at Rs 50 / kg. However, as per the recent reports , pirul is being bought at Rs 3 / KG. Why this massive difference ? This needs to be clarified by the govt/ forest department asked Anoop Nautiyal on social media handle X annexing the newspaper reports exposing this fact.
