The Congress party is highly critical of trying to bulldoze the democratically elected opposition government by misusing the money power, power of the agencies and the central Government.
The general secretary of the Congress, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while coming down heavily on the BJP led NDA government accused it for misusing the government machinery to destabilise opposition governments saying that the way BJP is using the government security and machinery for this purpose is unprecedented in the history of the country. Reacting to the cross voting, manipulating the Congress votes in the Rajya Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh and subsequent BJP ‘s tactics to unsuccessfully overthrow the democratically elected government of the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on her social media handle X in Hindi : In democracy, the general public has the right to choose the government of their choice. The people of Himachal Pradesh used this right and formed the Congress government with a clear majority. But the BJP wants to crush this right of the people of Himachal by misusing the money power, power of agencies and power of the Centre. The way BJP is using government security and machinery for this purpose is unprecedented in the history of the country. If a party with 25 MLAs is challenging the majority of 43 MLAs, then it clearly means that it is dependent on horse-trading of representatives. This attitude of theirs is unethical and unconstitutional. The people of Himachal and the country are watching everything. The BJP, which did not stand with the people of the state during the natural disaster, now wants to push the state into political disaster. Further adding that if a political party with merely 25 MLAs are challenging the government with the support of 43 MLAs then it unambiguously means that it believes in horse trading thus misusing its money and government power. This attitude of theirs is unethical and unconstitutional said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra further adding that the people of Himachal Pradesh and the country are observing everything. The party which didn’t come to the rescue of the people at the time of ecological disaster is now endeavouring to push the state into political disaster by deliberately and conspiratorially destabilising it said Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi who is assisting her brother Rahul Gandhi in his Bharat Nyay Yatra enticing tremendous crowds.
It may be recalled that after the BJP said that the Congress government led by Sukhvinder Singh Sidhu has been reduced to minority after six of its MLAs and three independent lawmakers cross voted in favour of the BJP Rajya Sabha MP declared elected yesterday.
The BJP delegation also met the governor declaring the Congress government in minority. Fifteen BJP MLAs were today suspended in HP assembly after they tried to bring a no confidence motion creating uproarious scenes in the assembly.
