DEMAND FOR A SHOOTER TO TO GET RID OF A MANEATER TIGER AT NAINIDAANDA BLOCK, GARHWAL WHO KILLED A VILLAGE WOMAN
Senior Vice President and Spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, Dhirendra Pratap, while expressing deep sorrow and grief over the death of Mrs. Bigri Devi, resident of Guniya village of Nainidanda development block of Pauri Garhwal district by a man-eating tiger, appealed to the government to immediately send shooters to either kill the man eater or tranquillize it and capture in iron cages sending it to zoo in order to protect the lives of the people of the village and surrounding areas.
Expressing deep sorrow and grief over this incident, Dhirendra Pratap said that in the last few days, many farmer families have been mauled by tigers. To counter this, the government should make a strong policy either to catch these maneaters by first tranquilizing th and sending to Zoos or if not possible to do so to get rid of them through the services of professional hunter.
He also drew the attention to the arrangement of wire fence to protect the lives of people in the forest area of the area and the destruction of the crops of farmers here by monkeys and pigs and demanded the government to take immediate steps in this matter.
Deeply saddened by this incident, he has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased woman and has also demanded that appropriate compensation be given to the family of the deceased woman at the earliest.
