Delhi team defeats Uttarakhand in its first match in Santosh Trophy Tournament at JN Stadium by 11-1

The Delhi team of prestigious Santosh Trophy tournaments being played at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium today defeated Uttrakhand 11-1 in the first match of Santosh trophy played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Colony. The Goal scorers were Neeraj Bhandari, Rahul Aswal, Rishabh Dobriyal (2), Dishant Negi(2), Dhruv Sharma(2), Jaideep (2). The captainship of Delhi team was accorded to Gaurav Chadda n the tournament commenced today. After two months of protracted training camp the selection committee of Delhi team has selected twenty footballers. The Delhi team has been kept with Punjab, Uttarakhand and Haryana in Group B. Today’s match of first day was between Delhi and Uttarakhand with Delhi scoring 11 goals against 1 of Uttarakhand team winning the first match with flying colours. Gaurav Chadha of Royal Rangers has been declared captain of Delhi State football team for participation in the 75th senior National football championship-2021 being conducted at New Delhi from 1st December 2021. Mr. Sayak Barai (international player) of Garhwal Heroes shall be his Deputy. Other members of the team are:

    Delhi played their first match against Uttrakhand on 1st December and won with flying colours. It will play against Haryana on 3rd and on 5th against Punjab. Top team of this group will qualify for final round to be played in Kerala in January 2022.
    Kindly recall that 10 players of Uttarakhandi origin were selected in Delhi State team for participation in Santosh trophy, out of which 8 players are from Delhi famed club Garhwal Heroes. Two boys had been picked up from Pauri town, Neeraj Bhandari n Gaurav Rawat (Dani) are in the team. Other players are Mahip Adhikari, Rishab Dobriyal, Dishant Negi, Milan Negi, Piyush Bhandari, Rahul Aswal, Rakshit Rawat, Dhruv Sharma.
