Delhi Pune bound AI flight hit by a bird , detected after it landed at Puna airport. Returned flight cancelled

After the deadly tragedy of AI 71 Dreamliner in which 270 people died in a crash at Ahmedabad, another tragedy was averted by the Almighty after the Delhi to Poona bound flight landed at Poona. Actually the plane was hit by a bird but was detected after the landing materialised at Poona airport. The return flight AI 2470 was immediately cancelled as a precautionary measure in order to carry out all the necessary tests of the aircraft. The return flight to Delhi was bound for the same day i.e. 20 th June.

The AI has made all the arrangements for the passengers comfortable stay in Poona till the next flight is readied. If necessary they are also being shifted to other flights bound for Delhi reveal sources. According to the press release the Air India announced the cancellation of several international and domestic flights on June 20 in view of carrying our several enhanced technical check ups and maintenance of aircraft.

According to the Press release the affected international services include AI 906 from Dubai to Chennai, AI308 from Delhi to Melbourne, AI309 from Melbourne to Delhi, and AI2204 from Dubai to Hyderabad. According to CNBC

On the domestic route, the cancellations impacted AI874 from Pune to Delhi, AI456 from Ahmedabad to Delhi, AI2872 from Hyderabad to Mumbai, and AI571 from Chennai to Mumbai.

“We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers. Our colleagues on the ground are making alternative arrangements for them to fly to their respective destinations at the earliest,” the airline said.
The AI authorities have also agreed to refund their fares or reschedule their flights as per their wishes etc.
