Delhi lockdown extended for a week till 24 th May
The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival has further extended the lockdown in the national capital territory of Delhi for another week to 24 th May. Feeling extremely convinced that the lockdown in the national capital has resulted in bringing down the Covid 19 cases and majority of the Delhites favouring lockdown for another week in the online survey, the chief minister Arvind Kejrival has extended the lockdown for another week till 24 th May. This is the fifth week of the lockdown imposed by Delhi government in view of the tremendous surge in cases earlier. There had been about 28000 cases in Delhi on daily basis since the last few days with spike in Covid 19 fatalities as well compelling the Delhi CM to impose weekly lockdown further extending it every week till 24 th May. Now this lockdown will remain in effect till next Monday morning. On Sunday the chief minister Kejrival said that in Delhi there have been good recovery in Covid 19 cases with the infections coming down to 6,430 which were nearly 8,000 + on Friday. But unfortunately the death rate is still on the rise with the capital city witnessing 337 fatalities on Friday. The Delhi government wants that the national capital goes free of Covid 19 cases but for this we have to be very attentive and careful added Delhi CM. In Delhi the infection rate has come down to 11.32 % which is quite satisfying and gives a huge sense of relief. It may be recalled that in Delhi till date about 13,87,411 people have been infected with Corona virus but about 12,99,872 patients have recovered with 66, 295 active cases. What is most shocking and traumatic is the fact that about 21,244 people have succumbed to this dreaded disease. However, it is being said that lot of people have not gone for Covid test and got themselves treated while in home isolation with lot of deaths not recorded as Covid fatalities. If we believe in this notion, which is a hard fact, the Covid ,19 figures of infections including fatalities would have multiplied for sure. Meanwhile Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival has assured that whoever in need of Oxygen concentrator in Delhi would get in in just two hours on demand. In a tweet today Delhi CM Kejrival wrote: Corona has wreaked havoc. People are extremely distressed. This is the time to support n help each other not of pointing fingers on each other. I appeal to each and every worker of AAP in Delhi to help with physique, money and mind n heart people living near them. This is the only real patriotism and duty towards the country said Delhi CM in his tweet.
