Delhi elections on 5 February and counting on 8.
The date of election of the national capital territory has been declared today. The chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar declared that the voting in Delhi will take place on 5 th February and the counting on February 8. Several senior election officers were sitting with the CEC on the podium of the Vigyan Bhawan. Declaring the dates the CEC said that there are in all over 13,000 polling stations in Delhi for the 2025 assembly elections also assuring of minimum facilities for a smooth voting process. Kindly recall that the term of the present assembly ends on February 23. There are seventy MLAs in Delhi assembly and the Election Commission is constitutionally bound to form the new assembly by February 23 rd. The Bhartiya Janata Party which is ruling at the centre since 2014 uninterruptedly , has failed to come to power in Delhi since 1998 despite trying its level best during the last twenty six years. However, the AAM ADMI PARTY having come out of the Anna Andolan against corruption is ruling in Delhi since 2013. The Congress party that ruled Delhi from 1998 till 2013 under the dashing and dynamic leadership of Sheila Dikshit known as an eminent leader of Congress and a brilliant CM taking Delhi to new heights of development in many spheres has been the worst sufferer politically since then especially because the AAM ADMI PARTY has intruded into the the traditional vote banks of Congress among the minorities, slum dwellers, JJ clusters and the downtrodden, backwards and SCST sections of the society. Addressing the press conference the Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said India is making history by creating a new record of one billion-plus voters saying further that “Electoral rolls were released yesterday. We are crossing 99 crore voters… We are going to be a nation of one billion voters very soon, which will be another record in voting,” Mr Kumar said. Highlighting that the year 2024 was the year of elections worldwide when two-third of the world’s population in democracies voted in different polls he also responded to the questions of freebies saying that the Election Commission’s hands are tied on this score but admitted that due to the freebies done states are definitely unable to pay the salaries due to the heavy cost of freebies. Meanwhile releasing the election song of AAP today Delhi CM Atishi said that this campaign song of AAP for the assembly elections expresses the feelings of every common man of Delhi. In 10 years, @ArvindKejriwal ji took care of 2 crore Delhiites like a family, that’s why Delhiites will “bring Kejriwal again”… said Delhi CM on X. After the declaration of the date of Delhi elections the Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva while speaking to media said : BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva says, “After the polling on the 5th, on the 8th, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a double-engine government will be formed in Delhi.
