Delhi Court judge blames Manish and co accused for deliberately delaying the legal process
The Rouse Avenue District Sessions Court judge Kaveri Baveja has expressed her displeasure in her order on Wednesday saying that the former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia alongwith with other co accused have been separately filing applications, some oral submissions in the Court frequently, some of them frivolous accomplishing the shared purpose of causing delay in the matter. The annoyed judge while going through the earlier hearings categorically came to the conclusion that the Manish and his co accused have submitted redundant written applications knowingly that investigating officers have stated that the contents were already provided. The order also pointed out that despite the previous orders Manish Sisodia and his co accused filed further applications seeking similar reliefs resulting in a calculated efforts to delay the court proceedings. Substantiating this the judge Kaveri Baweja said despite the order issued on November 21 that no court permission was required to open a new bank account accused in the case filed another application. She observed that since the court had already clarified this Nair’s application reinforced the prosecution’s claim that deliberate efforts are being initiated by the accused to delay the legal proceedings said the judge Kaveri Baveja. The ED’s counsel on the other hand termed the accuse Manish as the kingpin blaming him and the accused as deliberately trying to delay the legal process further arguing that the excise policy seems to be an evergreen vehicle for illegal profits guaranteeing further for future generations. The ED strongly argued that the govt has done no definite calculations regarding increase in the wholesale gains ( profits) while formulating the new excise policy.
