The opportunity for Swati Maliwal arose after one of the three sitting MPs of AAP in Rajya Sabha Sushil Gupta expressed his inability to repeat this time showing interest in Haryana politics to dedicate himself there wholeheartedly.

However, the other two sitting MPs N. D. Gupta and Sanjay Singh will be repeated this time as well.

AAPs all the three Rajya Sabha candidates would be filing their nominations on 19 th January and are sure to win.

In Delhi’s political history Sanjay Singh MP RS would be filing his nomination papers from Tihar Jail after he was granted permission by the Rouse Avenue Court whose membership is to end on 27 th January.
