Delhi CM asks centre to give them permission to deliver booster dose to Delhites, also extended the free ration delivery for another six months

In view if the increasing cases of a mutant virus Omicron, the chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejrival has sought permission from the central government to provide booster doses to Delhites.

He has also enhanced the free ration scheme to BPL sections in Delhi for another six months till 31 st May.

Delhi chief minister was today addressing a press conference after holding the meeting with his cabinet colleagues and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority meeting chaired by Delhi’s Lt. governor Anil Baijal.

Delhi had 26 cases of Omicron after Maharashtra where 54 people have been infected by this dreaded virus with 22 being from Mumbai.

In Delhi 12 patients suffering from Omicron virus have been discharged from Delhi hospitals, fully cured said Arvind Kejriwal further assuring that there are sufficient number of beds and medical arrangements in case of any eventuality.

The treatment of 14 patients is, still continuing with complete care and precautions.

Elaborating on the arrangements regarding beds n distribution of medicines in sufficient quantity, Delhi CM said that for strengthening the home isolation process he has again convened the meeting on 23 rd December.

Appealing to the Delhites to strictly follow Covid 19 protocols and wearing masks at all costs while going outside from their house, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced that from now onwards all the cases of Covid 19 will be send for genome sequencing as the govt can’t take any chances.

This, will lead us to know as to Delhi has how many cases of Omicron are, further enabling us to develop a strategy to counter this dreaded disease.

Emphasising on centre to grant them permission to give booster dose to Delhi Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has with it the basic infrastructure to the do the needful. The Director AIIMS Dr. Randeep Guleria has also expressed his serious concern over the surge in Omicron cases in India with its toll tally going to 153 cases urging for tightening of the belts to be ready for dealing with the situation.
