Delhi CM Arvind Delhi CM Kejrival questions : Why is EC buckling under pressure on delaying Delhi MCD elections ?

Though the counting of five states assembly elections is taking place on Thursday, the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and former Minister and lawmaker Somnath Bharti have accused the central government led by BJP and even prime minister for delaying the Delhi MCD elections as it has not only fearing of losing the Delhi MCD polls but has murdered democracy by not declaring these elections today postponing them ahead.

Even the senior journalist and popular journalist Rajdeep Sardesai with India Today TV has outrightly criticized the central government of delaying the declaration of Delhi election by a week In view of the exit polls that AAP is winning the Punjab polls.

In a tweet, the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal asked Can central government ” direct” any EC to delay/ cancel any elections? Under which provision? Are these “directions”, binding on EC? Why is EC buckling under pressure? Modiji Ab Is, Desh mein chunavo nahi karayenge? ( Modiji will now not let elections happen in this country, tweeted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal enclosing the tweet of Sweta Goswami, journalist who wrote : Big Development : Delhi’s election commissioner says his office has deferred announcing the schedule for MCD elections in the national Capital because the Centre wants to unify the three MCDs. The state election Commission is now taking legal opinion in the matter tweeted Sweta Goswami.

The deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia termed this action as BJP having been fearful of losing the Delhi MCD elections because the Delhi’ s electorates are anguished by the alleged corruption of MCD since the last 15 years n BJP is, fearful of losing these elections. In a tweet Manish Sisodia wrote posting his vidio as well : The BJP has postponed the MCD elections fearing it’s defeat through the election Commission. The Delhi public is anguished by the corruption in MCD since the last 15 years and the BJP is, running out fearing its defeat. The Delhi people had made up their mind for Kejriwal in Delhi MCD tweeted Manish Sisodia.

The senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai’s tweet has been retweeted by Arvind Kejriwal in which Sardesai tweeted : interesting that just a day before Punjab election result where almost all exit polls point to an AAP victory, state election Commission defers announcement of Delhi MCD elections by atleast a week. If @Arvind Kejriwal wins Punjab, MCD momentum will be with him. #Elections2022 tweeted Sardesai. Similarly advocate, lawmaker Somnath Bharti too tweeted that since BJP4 India, is sensing its defeat, it is postponing the election. He tweeted : Recall our 2 nd Delhi state election when PMO India kept postponing election again and again finally the same was held late by a year. Result : Delhi gave 67/70. Now@BJP4 India sensing massive defeat in MCDs again adopted the same measure but Delhi has made up their mind.

It may be recalled that recently an AAP MCD councillor from West Vinod Nagar under the jurisdiction of Delhi deputy CMs constituency was caught by anti corruption branch of CBI for accepting a bribe of Rs. 20 thousand whereas the AAP is blaming the 15 year old MCD led by BJP as corruption oriented fearing of it’s defeat in MCD elections. Sounds hypocritical say BJP leaders.
