The former Delhi chief minister and Aam Admi Party leader Atishi Marlena has today in strongest possible terms condemned the attack on the Delhi CM Rekha Gupta saying that there is no place of violence in democracy.
Posting her concern after the attack on Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta Atishi said on X in Hindi : The attack on the Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta is highly condemnable. In democracy there is a place for differences and opposition but no place for violence.
I hope that the Delhi police with give stringent punishment to the culprits. Hope the chief minister Delhi is completely safe wrote Atishi in X.
The Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta was this morning hearing to the people during the ” JANSUNVAYI” SCHEDULE at her official residence. While she was busy a man namely Sakariya came to her with some documents requesting something.
In the meanwhile he started yelling and attacked the CM as per the news going on. Some eye witnesses said that he might be drunk but this fact couldn’t be confirmed .
The reports reveal that he used some abusive language and then slapped the CM. The culprit grappled with the CM amd there was one minutes physical fight.
The security staff of the chief minister has caught the culprit and is being interrogated. The police reached the culprit’s mother at his house to ascertain the attacker’ s background etc.
The mother said that her son Sakariya is a dog lover and is disturbed since the day the SC verdict arrived directing the Delhi MCD n government to put all the street dogs in shelters within two months. What transpired between him and the CM during the hearing is not known.
The Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta was hearing people with grievances during her ” JANSUNVAAYEE” Schedule during the morning hours when this attack happened. The attacker originally belonged to Rajkot, Gujarat.
The Delhi minister Kapil Mishra said the attack on Chief Minister @gupta_rekha ji is a very serious matter. This is not a political attack, it is an attack with the intention to kill.
The way an attempt was made to kill the Chief Minister by knocking her down is horrifying in itself. This person had come with the intention to kill, he had no papers and no issue. Videos of recce of the house have been found in his mobile, this person had come only with the intention to attack.
These attacks have not lowered the morale of Chief Minister @gupta_rekha ji. Chief Minister is more committed to public hearings and public service than ever before. Chief Minister is neither going to stop, nor bow down, nor be afraid said Kapil Mishra.
AAP leader and former minister, Delhi Saurabh Bharadwaj strongly condemned the incident and said violence can’t be tolerated at any cost.
The mother of Rajesh Sakariya, attacker has been taken by the local police of Rajkot.
The neighbours of the attacker say that he is a nice man and an animal lovers who regularly feeds them and is a Shiv bhakti.
The Delhi police has registered the case of murderous attempt in the CM. The medical of the CM has been conducted and several rashes, scratches were found in her arms etc.
