Dehradun Citizens Forum Hosts Public Awareness Meet on Safe Driving

Dehradun, December 14, 2024 – The recent spate of road accidents in Dehradun and across Uttarakhand has raised serious concerns about road safety and responsible driving. In response, the Dehradun Citizens Forum (DCF) organized a Public Awareness Meet on Safe Driving to address these pressing issues and promote a collective sense of responsibility among residents.

The meet held near the Pacific Mall on Rajpur Road brought together concerned citizens, social activists, and community leaders to discuss the urgent need for safer driving.

The meet was marked by heartfelt discussions on the need for greater public awareness around responsible driving. Participants shared personal stories, highlighting the tragic impact of road accidents on families and communities. A central theme of the event was the collective responsibility of society to promote safe driving practices, with speakers emphasizing that road safety is not only an individual duty but a shared obligation.

Key discussions centered on the importance of adhering to traffic rules, avoiding rash driving, and the consequences of drunk driving. Several speakers called on the younger generation to take the lead in promoting responsible behavior on the roads, pointing out that they have a crucial role in shaping the future of road safety in Dehradun and beyond.

The event saw the distribution of posters and stickers urging citizens to celebrate responsibly and to make safe driving a part of their daily routines. These posters will be displayed at prominent locations across the city, with the hope that they will spark a wider conversation about road safety.
