Defence minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali statue at Peethsain, Thalisain, Pauri Garhwal
The union defence minister Rajnath reached Pith Sain, Thalisain Pauri Garhwal to pay tributes to eminent freedom fighter, patriotic soldier and a revolutionary Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali and inaugurated his statue on the ocassion of his death anniversary.
The state minister of Defence Ajay Bhatt, Uttarakhand chief minister, member of parliament from Pauri Garhwal and former CM Tirath Singh Rawat, several ministers n lawmakers of Uttarakhand were present on this occassion.
Among ministers were Harak Singh Rawat, Dhan Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Ganesh Joshi and state BJP chief Madan Kaushik.
Among MLAs were Mahant Dilip Rawat, Mukesh Koli, Ritu Khanduri, Mahesh Jeena, Bharat Singh Chowdhary etc.
Addressing the massive gathering defence minister Rajnath Singh lauded the present CM as a energetic sixer batsman in the last over doing marvellous work as chief minister of Uttarakhand.
Paying his tributes to hero of Peshawar mutiny Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Rajnath Singh termed him a patriotic valiant soldier, freedom fighter as well as a revolutionary who played a vital role not only as a determined and committed soldier disobeying the British general but also participated in Quit India movement contributing in India’s freedom from colonial rule.
Lauding Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, Rajnath Singh said that he was a true soldier by “Karm and Dharm”. ( action and religion).
Terming Uttarakhand as the land of abode of Gods not only in India but entire globe Rajnath Singh said that it is in true sense a “Tapo bhoomi and Veerbhuni” which has produced infinite number of saints as well as fighters in the service of the nation securing our borders and attaining martyrdom protecting us.
He said that though Uttarakhand gained its separate status two decades ago but its traditions and history exist since time immemorial.
The folk songs of bravery of these valiant icons like Teelu Rauteli, Madho Singh Bhandari and Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali etc are sung in every house as a mark of reverence to this legendary valiant fighters and martyrs said defence minister Rajnath Singh.
On this ocassion cheques were also distributed to the people under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Scheme and kits distributed to women under the newly launched ” GASYARI KALYAN YOJNA”, of the state government.
Patting the achievements of his government Rajnath Singh said that the work on the construction of 1000 kilometres metalled road till the last village of Uttarakhand border is likely to be completed which would be of immense benefit from economic as well as tactical point of view for the inhabitants of Garhwal’s border region.
Now going on Mansarowar Yatra via Lipulekh has become quite convenient said Rajnath Singh as this road will be able to bring both India and Nepal much closer to each other.
Lauding the valiant soldiers of Uttarakhand in protecting and safeguarding our nation in wars Rajnath Singh said that it is just a heartiest coincidence that while we are commemorating the death anniversary of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali by inaugurating his statue n paying our respects, the nation is celebrating its Amrut Mahotsav of completion of 75 years of Independence from the cruel imperialist foreign yoke.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the government will open nearly 8000 gyms and open fitness centres in nearly eight thousand gram Panchayats with 24000 jobs to the youth of the state as announced by him earlier. In addition the government will give 50% subsidy under the veer Chandra Singh Garhwali self employment scheme to buy the luxury buses in Uttarakhand.
He reiterated that employment in over 24000 posts have commenced from the August as assured by him.
The state minister of defence Ajay Bhatt thanked the Union defence minister for coming to Garhwal, Uttarakhand and paying his richest tributes. He also lauded the chief minister for doing a good job in providing reliefs to all sections of the society in Uttarakhand.
