Deependra Hooda, MP and Olympian Boxer Vijendra Singh come in open support of the struggling wrestlers saying that PM didn’t come forward to appeal them not to Wade their medal in pious Ganges !

The Congress leader and member of parliament Deependra Singh Hooda today castigated the government and Delhi Police for not carrying out the investigations in WFI imbroglio honestly and satisfactorily further saying that the way the our daughter (wrestlers) were dragged shamefully and cruelly by the police at Jantar Mantar who were trying to seek justice peacefully on the day the new parliament was inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi we have no option but to hang our heads in shame.

Addressing a press conference along with the gold medalist boxer Vijendra Singh – son of the former Haryana CM and MP Deependra Hooda criticized the WFI chairman Brijbhushan Sharan Singh for his derogatory statement that the Olympics medals are nothing but can be bought paying Rs 15 from anywhere easily. He strongly criticized his statement challenging him that we are ready to pay him as much as money he want but ask him if he can bring Olympics medals buying them as he said. He said that you can’t compare the Olympics medals and dignity of sportsmen with money. We will give you as much as money you want but get us a single medal buying it as he said, questioned furious Deependra Hooda, Lok Sabha MP from Haryana.

He questioned prime minister Narendra Modi and the sports minister as to why they are silent today when women wrestlers are relentlessly struggling to seek justice against their sexual harrasment and victimisation.

Can’t he ( PM) appeal to the struggling wrestlers to stop wading/ immersing their medals in pious Ganges. He asked when they brought laurels for the country winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the nation in Olympics, the prime minister and sports minister posed for photographs with them and hosted parties in their honour but when they are in real problem, they are conspicuous by their absence and have no time to appeal them to give up wading their medals in pious, Ganges.

Lauding the immense hard work and dedication of these women wrestlers who’ve brought several gold, silver and bronze medals for the country raising our head high globally , Deependra Hooda said that India has won 23 individual medals in Olympics since India attaining independence out of which Haryana has singularly won 11 medals and maximum in wrestling with today the wrestlers of Haryana being the worst sufferers just because they want justice and stringent legal punitive action against the WFI chairman Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, MP who hails from ruling BJP.

He expressed his shock over prime minister and sports minister being mum on the present sorry state of affairs of the struggling wrestlers especially the women wrestlers and openly siding with the WFI chairman for his wrong doings and his alleged criminal background.

The first Indian Bronze winner in boxing in 2008 Beijing Olympics Vijendra Singh while addressing the press conference said that when in America the Olympics Gold winner n world champion Mohammed Ali was the victim of racial discrimination having stopped from entering a club in America, he was compelled to throw his Olympic medal in the river slapping the then American government. The entire people of that country stood with this international boxer with government giving him due justice by bringing racism to end but unfortunately in our country when our wrestlers go to Ganges to throw their medals in Ganges to register their protest against injustice, they are discriminated on caste grounds and the Haridwar management etc say that they can’t pollute the Ganges by wading their medals in the pious river thus acting on the instructions and directives of the government.

He said: the Olympics medals are won by tremendous competition by coming first in district, state, Asian Games n Common wealth games’ competitions and finally winning the prestigious Olympics. The people n the govts don’t actually understand the worth of these Olympia winners. We need to respect them and give due justice to them.
