CT angiography of the heart to know about blocked arteries reveals result in just 2 minutes than the costly wire inserted angiography says Dr. Chajjar, fmr consultant, AIIMS

During these days of tensions and fast life style it has been witnessed that cases of cardiac complications are on the rise with even cardiac arrests of young ones taking place, especially due to the intake of junk foods, no exercises or physical movement except being stucked to computers, apart from other various complications social, family or related to their career making etc.

The multiple increase in cases of diabeties and other body complications are surging rapidly with bad food habits and adulteration in consumable oils and packed food items etc.

Compounded with these complications are enhancing tensions due to various social reasons as well.

In nutshell cases of heart ailments are on the rise with blockages having become a most common disease resulting in heart patients going for stents costing too much or by pass surgeries.

But prior to the heart surgeries or fixing of stents the patients are subjected to angiography of heart which is a common practice to ascertain as to how much are the arteries blocked etc

There is a common practice for the last several decades that doctors of majority of the government and super speciality private hospitals usually prescribe angiography through a wire ( with camera) fitted on it to examine the percentage of the blocked artery in order to arrive at a definite conclusion about the possible bypass heart surgery or fitting of the stents costing exorbitantly according to the rates fixed by government and private hospitals.

Under this usually prescribed angiography, a wire is inserted to the heart which is painful and costly as well with patients being charged twelve to twenty thousand rupees, taking time as well, leading to psychological tensions.

However, now a very easy, convenient and two minutes result giving machine has arrived according to Dr. Bimal Chajjar, Heart care and life style expert, formerly with AIIMS as Consultant.

According to his video doing the rounds in social media urging to forward it further Dr. Bimal says that usually to diagnose a heart disease we go for ECG, ECO n TMT tests etc on doctors advise.

These are common tests which can’t reveal about the blockages in our arteries of Heart.

Blockages of heart can be diagnosed through Angiography which is usually recommended in which a wire is inserted to your heart.

But now a new machine has arrived for a convenient angiography called CT angiography.

According to Dr. Chajjar a new machine for CT angio graphy has arrived though since the last two decades that reveals the percentage of blockage in just two minutes and that too not costing much but doctors usually still recommend for wire piercing, painful angiography which is obsolete now, either will- fully or not knowing about it charging 12 to 15 thousand Rs which is not at all necessary.

This test is just like CT scan procedure which takes merely two minutes to know about the percentage of blockages through CT angiography 128 slice Or more capacity 500 slice taking machine.

The CT scan of brain takes little longer as brain is “still” whereas the heart is a palpitating organ and these fast slice taking machine of heart works speedily giving the result in just two minutes, diagnosing the amount of blockage in the heart arteries or any other tubes n their location etc , without any wound in body parts.

All heart specialists should recommend for these tests, says Dr. Chajjar confidently.

He strongly recommends for this cheap angiography saying that it hardly costs 6 to 7 thousand rupees whereas the Wire piercing angiography costs 12 to 15 thousand. Moreover, just walking and getting it done without any hassles in two minutes us not abadidea says Dr. Chajjar.

He strongly recommends for just two minutes CT Scan angiography and urged all heart specialists go for it rather than going for an obsolete and costly one.
