Crime graph going up drastically in Delhi. People annoyed with the DP performance
The law and order situation in Delhi have literally failed like bankruptcy with four murders taking place in a week. There are chain and mobile snatching incidents going up with several cases not being reported in various localities of Delhi and the lives of people and women security at stake with people coming down heavily on Delhi police for its total failure to counter these increasing crimes .
The Delhi police commissioner Sanjiv Arora had held a high level meeting with all the deputy commissioners of police and senior officers accepting in principle about the crime graph going up considerably in Delhi and people lives at stake with criminals, chain and mobile snatchers, extortionists, murderers and hardened criminals having their fullest say with no threat of police and law of the land. The Delhi police commissioner had in this high level meeting had unambiguously instructed all the DCPs and other senior police officers including ACPs, SHOs of all police stations to personally monitor the situation and ensure that the crime graph comes down drastically.
After the panic created in Delhi as a consequence of triple murders in a family and the gruesome murder of a businessman in Shahadra the media went to trans yamuna, Laxmi Nagar Shakurpur area to elicit their views on the current law and order situation.
While responding to the queries of the reports majority of the residents of Lakshmi Nagar have expressed their complete dissatisfaction with the Delhi police performance saying that not a day goes without cases of snatching in any street of Lakshmi Nagar with criminals having their fullest say not at all worried about the law and order machinery, laws of the land or Delhi police.
One of the woman interviewee said that they fear of walking on roads and market as there is no security or police patrolling including prostitution literally running in every street.
Out of ten people interviewed about the law and order situation in Delhi and Lakshmi Nagar, Shakurpur nine persons were completely dissatisfied with the police performance and blamed the union home minister Amit Shah too for being busy in forming governments in other states but not at all bothering to set right the law and order situation of Delhi, knowingly because Delhi is ruled by AAP and he is not worried . They also blamed the LG Delhi Delhi for being a failure in this context. They said that the union home minister should concentrate his energy and efforts to set right the law and order situation in the national capital rather than being busy in forming governments in other states.
According to the latest statistics the Delhi police have registered 1,73, 253 incidents of crimes under IPC and Bharat Nyay Sanhita in the national capital this year . According to the latest data there had been 308 murders and 1,034 robberies in 2024. The cases of kidnappings have been just six while the cases of extortion were 144 till September, 2024. In 2022 the national capital reported 1952 crimes per one lakh people which was further increased by eight percent in 2023 with over all crime detection rate going up by 39.8 percent in 2024 reveal the government figures. If one believes in the figures of the various nature of crimes in 2023 going up the cases of kidnapping almost doubled compared to 2022 , dacoity by 61 percent , spike in extortion by 9% , burglary increased from 6,189 cases to 6,916 cases.
Not only this by the thefts in residences also increased manifold from 18020 cases to 21641 thefts. Similarly the vehicles thefts too went up by five percent.
Meanwhile the former chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejrival while criticizing the union government on the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi wrote on his social media handle X : The Delhi citizens have in their entire life never seen such a worst condition of law and order situation in the national capital. Amit Shah should come to Delhi and give answers to Delhi citizens in this regard wrote Arvind Kejrival.
The chief minister of Delhi Atishi Bharadwaj in her tweet now X wrote : In Delhi’s schools now threat of exploding schools by bombs is being received after the daily incidents of extortion, incidents of gunshots and murders taking place. The law and order condition has never ever deteriorated earlier.
