Controversy over Rahul Gandhi’s picture with British Labour Party MP Jeremy Corbyn.
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi is in Britain these days busy meeting Congressmen active there and also representatives of various political parties. The scion of Gandhi family is seen here in dark blue pant and t shirt n well studded suit away from his Khadi attire worn in India. He is accompanied by the main pillar of telecom revolution in India with his late father the then PM Rajiv Gandhi on this tour. While, Rahul is in Britain and when he met one member of parliament of British Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn, the BJP leaders got irritated and lost no opportunity to train their guns against the Nehru Gandhi family scion coming on Twitter criticising him. Sharing the picture of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi posing for a photograph with British Labour Party standing at the centre with Rahul and Sam Pitroda, the Union Minister Kiren Rijuju and BJP Information Technology cell chief Amit Malviya said that the former Congress chief has met the British member of parliament who had been patronising separatists and speaking for disassociating Kashmir from India. How can a person go against his own nation so much said these leaders. Immediately, after this, the Congress party came into defence of their leader with substantial evidence posting the picture of prime minister Narendra Modi and retaliating forthwith in this, twitter war saying that does it mean that the prime minister also supports the statement of British Labour Party M P Corbyn in the context of Kashmir and India. The Congress party also clarified that the Indian leaders have been in the past meeting the opposition leaders or those keeping different opinions and shall be meeting in future as well as a customary.
In his tweets Congress spokesman n MP Randeep Singh Surjewala after posting the picture of PM shaking hands with British Labour MP Corbyn wrote : Finally may I ask my media friends to identify the two men in picture below and ask the same questions. Does it mean that the PM has endorsed Jeremy Corbyn’s views on India ? He further tweeted questioning : Hope media friends including India today and CNN 18 will ask the BJP as to what did PM discuss in this meeting and whether he endorsed these views ? Randeep Surjewala futher questioned if the basis of not meeting is this then they ( BJP) answer as to why a picture of financial defaulter was clicked with PM in Davos and why had PM met the Chinese president Xi Jinping when expansionist China had captured our borders areas arbitrarily. He also asked why had PM met the Pakistan PM Nawab Sharif earlier. Will the government pledge not to meet anyone whose view differ from us?
