Congress to start Jai Gange – Jai Kedarnath Padyatra from 24 July to protest against the construction of Kedarnath Temple in Delhi
The issue of the proposed construction of Kedarnath Dham/ Kedarnath Temple in Delhi, the foundation stone of which was laid by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has gained tremendous momentum as the controversy has taken political shape with the main opposition party in Uttarakhand n at the centre opposing it forthwith and announcing the date of the Jai Ganges Jai Kedarnath Yatra from 24 th July from Haridwar Ganges to Kedarnath Dham to save the dignity of the historic ancient portal Kedarnath Dham.
Addressing a press conference at Dehradun Congress headquarter today in the presence of former Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal, spokesperson Garima Dasauni n Rajendra Shah, General Secretary Congress, Ukhand the Uttarakhand Congress president Karan Mahara accused the BJP of playing with the spiritual and religious sentiments of the people of Uttarakhand n elsewhere saying that they are building the Kedarnath Dham Temple in Hiranki- Burari Delhi because those who can’t visit Kedarnath Dham may get the same blessings of Lord Kedarnath by visiting the Delhi temple and paying their obeisance there.
He said the Shilaas of Kedarnath Dham Temple are being taken to Delhi thus playing with the sentiments of millions of devotees of Kedarnath Dham, Uttarakhand.
Strongly criticizing the BJP government Uttarakhand Congress chief Karan Mahara said that the Congress party will oppose this attempt tooth and nail and is taking out a Padyatra from Haridwar, Har Ki Paidee from 24 th July , 2024 onwards by taking the bath in pious Ganges and proceeding to Kedarnath Dham in protest mobilising people on the way of the Padyatra.
Accusing the saffron party for playing with the faith and sentiments of the people he said that we will oppose this attempt of BJP by all means.
Our this Yatra is being organised to protect the dignity of Kedarnath Dham. The details of the Padyatra will be revealed afterwards but hundreds of Congressmen, its leaders , youth activists and general mass will participate in this Padyatra said Uttarakhand Congress chief Karan Mahara.
