Whenever the former chief minister of Uttarakhand and veteran Congress leader is active in Uttarakhand posing direct threat to the ruling political dispensation and the saffron party in the state the gin of CBI is introduced and notices issued to the senior Congress leader inorder to apply break on his political activities said the senior Uttarakhand spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni. It may be recalled that the Central Bureau of Investigation had registered a case against former Uttarakhand cu ef minister Harish Rawat and was summoned for probe number of times in the sting operation case regarding interaction with a journalist at Jollygrant airport on alleged horse trading of MLAs. Now after a long gap the CBI has again issued notices to Harish Rawat, cabinet minister forest Subodh Uniyal and several others. According to the news report the investigating officer of CBI has after seeking permission from the court summoned Subodh Uniyal , minister and others as well to take their statements. One of the lawmaker of Haridwar has already given his statement to CBI officer. In the year 2016 two sting operations took place, one against Harish Rawat related to alleged horse trading of Congress MLAs and another sting was against Harak Singh Rawat the then minister conducted by the then MLA Madan Singh Bisht, now also a law maker. There were charges against Harish Rawat for being allegedly involved in horse trading of Uttarakhand lawmakers to save his government , majority of whom had defected to BJP finally his government fell. Two years ago India’s premier agency CBI had issued notices to Harish Rawat, Dr.Harak Singh Rawat , MLA Madan Singh Bisht and Umesh Kumar, now MLA from Khanpur , formerly journalist to present themselves at CBI to give their voice samples. The CBI has commenced the investigations after lodging FIR against Harish Rawat finally filing the case against Harish Rawat. The statement of Subodh Uniyal minister probably as witnesses holds immense significance. He was to appear before the CBI investigator on Thursday to record his statement but still ecto preoccupation he couldn’t attend requesting for another date.
