Congress party’s Tamil Nadu unit files petition against EC in Chennai High Court !

The Congress party has today reached the Tamil Nadu High Court against the Election Commission of India filing a petition that despite its complaint against highly objectionable speeches of prime minister it hasn’t taken any action.

According to a news report of Bar and Bench the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee has filed a petition in Tamil Nadu High Court.

The TN Congress president Selvaperuntagai has through this petition requested the Chennai High Court to immediately pass directions to the Election Commission of India to initiate immediate action against the alleged hatred oriented speech of prime minister Narendra Modi during his election meetings.

The petition highlighted that on and after 21 April in several election meetings the prime minister has used undesirable and highly objectionable language in his speeches.

The petition also mentioned that despite the Congress leaders complaining to the Election Commission of India no action was initiated against him.

Instead of issuing notice to the prime minister the Election Commission has issued notices to the chief of the BJP sidelining the issue, finally.

According to the news report of Bar and Bench the petition mentioned about the hatred oriented speeches of prime minister holding him directly responsible saying that he is personally and solely responsible for the provocative, reactionary (divisive) and insulting versions in his speech.

The Congress party mentioned in the petition that the negligence and apathy of the election commission sends a wrong message across spectrum and raises questions of the credibility of the election commission.

It may be recalled that on 21 April the prime minister Narendra Modi had while delivering his speech in a rally at Banswaada Rajasthan compared the minorities as infiltrators and termed them as those who give birth to more children accusing Congress a party that will snatch the Mangalsutra of women and their wealth to distribute them to these infiltrators creating quite a sensitisation and furore in Congress party circles with media highlighting it to the hilt.

The petition clearly mentions that the PM want to create apprehension of fear in the minds of the people and make them quarrel with each other so that the BJP could bag maximum votes through polarisation.

The petition also accused the Prime minister and BJP leaders for spreading lies n confusion about the Congress manifesto.
