The former undersecretary General and member of parliament from Thiruvananthapuram since 2009, an intellectual to the core , author of several books and senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor seems to be in a mess as one of his previous personal assistant has been caught red handed accepting five hundred kilogram of gold at the airport from a friend who has arrived from Dubai. The former PA of Shashi Tharoor had the direct entry pass having access to enter airport. The incident occured on Wednesday.

According to the latest news the former personal assistant to the senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, namely Shiv Prasad had come to Delhi international airport to receive his friend arriving there from Dubai. He and his friend, both were arrested when the latter was handing over the packet of 500 grams of gold to Shiv Prasad.

When the news came Tharoor was in Dharamshala in connection with the election campaigning in favour of Congress candidate. Reacting to this the MP n Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said that the law should take its own course writing on social media handle X : While I am in Dharamshala for campaigning purposes, I was shocked to hear of an incident involving a former member of my staff who has been rendering part-time service to me in terms of airport facilitation assistance. He is a 72 year old retiree undergoing frequent dialysis and was retained on a part-time basis on compassionate grounds. I do not condone any alleged wrongdoing and fully support the authorities in their efforts to take any necessary action as may be required to investigate the matter. The law must take its own course said Tharoor.
